Disney Announces Contract for Two New Cruise Ships

The Disney Company announced today that they have entered into a contract for the construction of two new cruise ships.  To join the Wonder, Dream, Magic, and Fantasy, and increase their fleet to six, Disney has made an agreement with the Meyer Werft Shipyards for two new ships to be completed in 2021 and 2023.  And of course they will be bigger and better.

“While design plans, ship names and itineraries are still in development, the Walt Disney Imagineering team is already dreaming up exciting new innovations that will be uniquely fun and distinctly Disney. Each new ship will be approximately 135,000 gross tons – slightly larger than the newest Disney Cruise Line ships,  and each is currently planned to include about 1,250 guest staterooms.”

This is a great story and I can’t wait until we get more details.  Gotta start working on new names.  Enchanted, Amazing, Supercalifragilistic are my early choices.

Hello all! I have been going to WDW since 1976 and can't count the number of trips along with some cruises. I love all things Disney, from the parks to the studios to the history of what made the Walt Disney Company what it is...Walt himself.
