Hollywood Studios introducing more Star Wars experiences!

The much anticipated release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens begins today, April 1st, with the digital release of the movie. That is followed shortly by the release on Tuesday April 5th of the Blu-Ray copies. Depending on where you purchased from, you get deleted scenes, exclusive interviews and special packaging.

On the heels of the movie releasing to home theaters, Walt Disney World is adding even more Star Wars awesomeness in Hollywood Studios!  Hollywood Studios has already rolled out the new (and amazing) Star Wars Launch Bay and the Jedi Trading: Trials at the Temple experience.  We have also seen an amusing set of First Order Stormtroopers that patrol the Animation Courtyard and interact with guests.

Starting on Monday April 4th, we will get to see the new stage show, titled “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away” in the Center Stage.  According to the Disney World blog, we will get

to see our favorite characters, new and old, recreating iconic scenes from the movies.  We can only hope that there will be some epic lightsaber duels!   Also, joining the First Order troopers on their patrols will be the incomparable Captain Phasma.

Hollywood Studios will also be debuting a new fireworks show later in the summer, “Star Wars, A Galactic Spectacular.”  This show is building on the current Star Wars fireworks show (which was pretty awesome when I saw it in January) and will be adding more special effects and video projection that will transform the Chinese Theater area into Tatooine, Death Star trench, the new Starkiller Base and other great Star Wars destinations. No firm date has been set for this show to start, but I can’t wait to see it!
