Details Emerging About New Haunted Mansion Movie

New reports out of Hollywood reveal that Ryan Gosling is interested in a role in the new Haunted Mansion film. Gosling is not a Disney rookie. He was once a Mouseketeer and later had a role in Disney’s Remember the Titans. As of today here are some other things we already know about the film:

Director: Back in 2010, at Comic-Con Disney announced the project with D.V. DeVincentis (High Fidelity) working on the script. Since then, film-maker Guillermo Del Torro (Pacific Rim; Pans Labyrinth) has talked enthusiastically about his involvement with The Haunted Mansion film. We know for sure he and the team are working on the screen play and he has a strong desire to get this film off the ground as soon as possible.

This was a character in the original Disneyland version of the ride which was removed due to technical issues just after the rides premier. The character has since made its return to Disneyland in May 2015 and has a cult-like following.
Research: Over Oscar weekend Gosling and Del Torro were seen riding several Disneyland rides
together including The Haunted Mansion. Del Torro has also taken several executives to
Disneyland in an effort to develop the screen play for the movie. According to Del Torro, Disney Nerds Haunted_Mansion emblem“it’s a hard screenplay to crack. We are on our third or fourth draft, with 2 different writing teams, and I think the main thing is to try to combine everything that is great about the ride into the movie and to make it really intense but with a  sense of fun – just like the ride.”

Sounds like the effort put into this project will be worth the wait. The release date varies regularly as they are working through the screen play. Let’s hope it is completed soon and something we see by 2018.

Thanks for reading and have a magical day.
