“This is not going to go the way you think.” Star Wars: The Last Jedi Premiere

I was given the incredible opportunity to catch an early screening of The Last Jedi at Disney Springs tonight. The film started at 6 pm but the fun started around two hours before, when StormTroopers, Chewie, Poe, Rey, Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma, and General Hux aligned the red carpet outside of the AMC Theaters.  Banners aligned the sidewalks with pictures of our favorite characters. Music of our favorite saga filled all of Disney Springs. This wasn’t a movie, this was an experience that took you back to your childhood and made you fall in love again with Star Wars with thousands of others before even entering the theater.

The movie hits lightspeed right from the get-go and doesn’t let up until the ending credits roll. Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley show why they’re two of the best entertainers in the movie industry today. Carrie Fisher, who I have been critical in the past, did her best performance in a Star Wars film. Mark Hamill made Luke Skywalker come alive which made it feel like we were in the middle of the original trilogy. We get answers to questions we had in 2015 when we saw The Force Awakens. This motion picture has a lot going on at once but does a great job keeping the audience’s attention. After seeing this film, there is no question why Kathleen Kennedy has selected Rian Johnson to direct the new trilogy. He made the Star Wars nation laugh, cry and goes completely silent within a matter of seconds. This movie is way past the two-hour mark; he made it feel like we just sat down when the end credits were on the screen.  This motion picture is a must see in the theaters and pre-ordering it is a must when it gets ready to hit the stores. I can’t wait to see it over and over again. Let me know what you think of The Last Jedi in the comments.

Hey Everyone: I have enjoyed going to the Studios faithfully twice a week since 2011. My most memorable experience was camping out in front of the main gate for each of the four Star Wars Weekends in 2015!
