Magic Kingdom Facts Every Disney Nerd Must Know!
When people think of Disney World, the first thing that comes to their minds is Magic Kingdom. Walking down main street and seeing Cinderella’s castle brings emotion to anyone! Read along to learn some facts that every Disney nerd must know!
Imagineering Illusion
Disney would not be the magical place that it is without the amazing work done by the Imagineers! For our first fact, we will make you question height! Did you know Cinderella’s Castle stands at 189 feet… and Space mountain at 183 feet?! Both of these measurements are taken from the highest point. Both are made to look taller than they appear. Next time you walk through Magic Kingdom see if you can figure out the illusion!
Trash…
Trash you say? Magic Kingdom sees over 56,000 guests a day. That means, there will be a large amount of TRASH! There are pipes underneath the Magic Kingdom in the utilidor that use pressurized air to jet trash to its final destination at over 60 MPH. That’s right, your trash travels as fast as the cars in Test Track!
Oldest running attraction in the park
As a Disney Nerd, it’s fair to say you should probably know about the oldest attraction in the park. When standing in front of the castle through the opening you can find The Prince Charming Regal Carrousel. It was actually used in a park in Detroit Michigan and Maplewood New Jersey. The Imagineers gave it a redesign once they got ahold of it. With 90 handcrafted horses (no two are the same!) and 2,300 lights to bring it to life, it makes it classic for Magic Kingdom.
