We got out first look Inside Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in December 2019, a few months after the official announcement at the D23 Expo, part of the multi-year reimagination of Epcot.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is set to open in the France Pavilion of Epcot’s World Showcase on October 1st, 2021.
At the time, Remey’s Ratatouille Adventure was planned to open in the “Summer 2020,” which well, Not exactly this Covid thing happened.  We watched the construction from our Disney’s Skyliner gondola until the announcement that the opening day was moving to October 1st 2021 to co-inside with the 50th anniversary.
The expansion is more than a single attraction, Disney is touting this new expansion as a “Mini-Land,” extending the existing France Pavilion, all part of Epcot’s historic multi-year transformation.  Remy, the “little chef” from Disney and Pixar’s “Ratatouille”, has a passion for food, a passion that goes well beyond good taste – he’s on a continual quest of creativity and innovation, making him the perfect inspiration for the expansion.

The expansion includes both Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, a new family-friendly attraction inviting guests into the larger-than-life world of “Ratatouille.” Along with La Crêperie de Paris, a new restaurant offering authentic French cuisine with both table- and quick-service options.
The opening of the expansion marks a milestone in the multi-year transformation of EPCOT, a new generation of immersive storytelling at Epcot, Blending Real-World France with Whimsical Paris from ‘Ratatouille’.
The expansion more than doubles the size of the french pavilion seamlessly transition between the original and new sections. In a scene reminiscent of the Seine River of Paris, guests begin their journey to this new area of the park with a stroll down a waterside pathway near the EPCOT International Gateway, with Disney Skyliner gondolas gliding majestically nearby.

Guests will walk under an art nouveau-style archway evoking a Paris Metro station before rounding a corner and entering a French market street called “Alley of the Merchants”. After passing La Crêperie de Paris, guests walk under a cast-iron arcade that serves as the transition from real-world France to the fantastical vision of Paris from “Ratatouille.”
Imagineers worked with Pixar to design buildings in the pavilion that evoke the whimsical, handmade architectural style seen in “Ratatouille,” where lines become less straight, colors are bolder, and other exaggerated details create the feel of an animated film.
The theme continues with a “Ratatouille”-inspired fountain as the focal point of this fanciful area of the pavilion; the structure features rats holding bottles and flutes of champagne as water shoots out of the bottles toward the top basin. Remy stands atop the fountain wearing his classic French toque (hat) and holding a cooking spoon. This family-friendly attraction will have guests shrink to the size of a rat and race through Gusteau’s restaurant, joining Remy in creating a culinary masterpiece.

After entering the theater, guests find themselves on the rooftops of Paris, where Gusteau invites them to join Remy for a special meal. They board rat-shaped vehicles and then don 3D glasses to begin their adventure, seeing everything from a “rat’s-eye view.”
Imagineers worked with Pixar artists to create animated 3D scenes that feel as if the film has come to life right before guests’ eyes, blending with oversized sets to provide an immersive environment full of sights, sounds, smells, and other effects. Celebrating “Ratatouille.”
From falling through a skylight to scurrying through Gusteau’s kitchen to hiding out in the restaurant’s pantry, guests feel as if they’re right alongside Chef Remy.
The vehicles travel in groups of three and move forward and backward while spinning, tilting, and bouncing along as the rats scamper from one scene to the next. Depending on which vehicle guests board, they may take a slightly different path through the attraction and notice new details if they experience Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure multiple times.
Adding to the overall authenticity of the France pavilion, Characters speak in a blend of English and French.

Nearby, La Crêperie de Paris Serves Up a Traditional French Dining Experience. La Crêperie de Paris is a traditional creperie with a menu inspired by the Brittany region of France, home to countless creperies.
The table-service restaurant serves savory galettes and sweet dessert crepes, along with some of Brittany’s famous hard ciders.
The gluten-friendly galettes are made with buckwheat imported from France and feature classic fillings with special twists. Perhaps the best-known combination is the Classique, which includes ham, eggs, and Swiss cheese.

DVC Moonlight Magic Blast Fireworks

DVC Moonlight Magic Blast at Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom

There are lots of perks associated with being a Disney Vacation Club Member.  Maybe one of the coolest is being able to attend DVC Moonlight Magic.  It’s an after-hours in-park event, available to DVC members at no cost.   Events have historically taken place in each Walt Disney World Park, including the water parks and Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim.Think of it as a hard ticketed event where the ticket is complimentary to DVC members, assuming you can get one.   You’ll need to watch the DVC member page for announcements. Typically, registration is available to guests with a DVC resort reservation first, then open to all DVC members.  Only time will tell if that’s still the case post-Covid-19.
The event includes access to select attractions, with shorter-than-usual wait times, of course, meet-and-greets with Disney Characters.   I’m not talking about the traditional meet and greets; I’m talking about characters you don’t see daily.  Be aware, those meet and greets will have lines longer than most attractions.   The event will have at least one DJ Dance Party, more depending on the park; and like a hard ticketed event, complimentary refreshments are available – can you say Free Mickey Bars!   Of course, there are limited-time food and beverage offerings and merchandise.
The nightly entertainment is also a special event.  While Magic Kingdom had showcased “Happily Ever After” earlier in the day, during the Moonlight Magic event, a second impressive fireworks presentation, Moonlight Magic Blast is a must-see, and the subject for this edition of SamsDisneyDiary
