What’s New At The Studios-January 30th 2018
Welcome to the last Park snapshot for the month of January.
A new traffic pattern awaits arriving Studio guests. The main entrance recently paved vehicle lanes are now being utilized for visitor vehicles and Disney resort busses to enter the Park off of Lake Buena Vista Drive, including a new attendant booth for cast members to collect parking fees. The former two lane parking booth may soon disappear as have already many trees that formerly lined the north lot perimeter. Guests departing their parked cars on this near end of the lot can now catch a clear glimpse of the Morocco Pavilion and Spaceship Earth over in Epcot as they head for the Studio’s main entrance. The ever popular Speedway gas station across the street is even visible now due to the tree clearing efforts.
In search of a new Disney beverage mug? Head over to the Five and Dime store. Neat new designs include Mickey’s Surfing Company, Captain Hook, as well as Mickey and Minnie enjoying the attractions. These are great gift ideas for that sweetheart on Valentine’s Day. Additional V- Day merchandise is available in all the Park stores as well.
The high-octane encounter Cruz Ramirez meet and greet at Pixar Place is now out of gas and has departed. This leaves just a dead end walkway in Pixar Place after passing the Toy Story Midway Mania entrance. Likewise, additional trees have been planted in this area to shield the ongoing Battu construction taking place.
A late post-holiday transition is the removal of the former holiday store near the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular attraction. In its place is a covered stroller parking area that parents should appreciate. Meanwhile, great news for ice cream lovers… Gertie’s on Echo Lake is back open this week for the best cold delights on property.
Wrapping up this week’s post with the most current photos of the ongoing construction of Battu. Hopefully for fans time will go quickly for the opening debut of this star-studded new land that is set on the 14 acres of the former Streets Of America section.

May The Force Be With You!
Good post. Love the new mugs. Nice how they change things up. Good idea with stroller cover over at Indy. Gotta suck when a downpour comes over and your in the show before they added the coverage. In the Battu pics, the one with the red/orange fence in the foreground, what is your impression of the thing above the word on the building? Looks finished.
