Meet Lisa

About Lisa

I’m a retail manager, wife and mother of 4 from Southeastern Massachusetts. I am a big Boston sports fan with my biggest focus on the Bruins. In my spare time I enjoy traveling to Disney, talking about Disney, writing about Disney…. You get the point. I have been hooked on Disney since the age of 8 and after 25+ trips “home” I feel like I know that area better than my home town. Disney World is where I proposed to my wife and where we spent our honeymoon following our Disney themed wedding.

I became a fan of the Disney Nerds Podcast around episode 15. Fandom turned to friendship after a lucky chance to join Jimmy and Sam for a meet in 2015. The rest is history!!!! After putting it off for years, I finally got into blogging about Disney in 2015 and now write for the Disney Nerds Podcast Blog, help as an Admin for the DISNEY NERDS Facebook group and occasionally lend my thoughts on the podcast.

What makes me a Disney Nerd:

Disney Nerds come in all shapes and sizes. I think what makes me a nerd is my level of excitement about all things Disney. I will stop and talk to anyone at any point about any Disney topic. I even enjoy talking Disney with those that don’t like Disney.

Favorite Park:

Magic Kingdom – The other 3 parks have bounced around in rank below Magic Kingdom buy I think the little kid in me will never let any other park take over as number 1. The magic of Main Street, the atmosphere and amazing nighttime entertainment has made it my favorite for years and usually has to be the last park I visit before I end my vacation.

Favorite Attraction:

Monorail – I know, how can this by my favorite attraction, its not in a park? We stayed at the Contemporary Resort on my first trip to Disney. I vividly remember how amazing I was to see the monorail go through the Grand Canyon Concourse. During that trip I was able to sit up front and see how it was operated. It was my first “ride” at Disney.

Favorite Resort:

Port Orleans French Quarter –

While I am fairly new to this resort, I have fallen in love with it. I love the small resort feel and the close proximity to Riverside. The boat ride to Disney Springs is pleasant and relaxing and the single bus stop for the resort is great. The courtyard, pool and splash pad make it a family favorite.

Favorite Restaurant:

Kona Café – Breakfast or dinner at Kona is always amazing. As much as I love the food there is also a sentimental factor as it was the restaurant we went to the night we got engaged.

Favorite Snack:

Dole Whip vanilla soft service swirl – A dole whip is a little too sweet for my taste buds but the swirl is perfect.

Favorite Character:

Goofy – I love the early goofy sports cartoons. I thought it was a great message; it doesn’t matter how good or bad you are, never give up. Goofy always crossed the finish line, seldom in first and often with 5 hurdles wrapped around him, but he finished and never gave up.

Favorite Movie:

Lion King and Tangled are tied for this category. I just can’t decide which I like more so I will say both.
