A Disney Nerds Visit to the Park: Hollywood Studios
Last night, I spent the evening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Driving into the parking lot, I immediately noticed that the new Skyliner Gondola is up and in test runs! The Gondolas looked amazing soaring smoothly through the air. The Skyliner Gondolas are covered now, but according to Disney Parks Blog, “select gondolas will have iconic Disney characters incorporated into their exterior design to give the appearance that a Disney pal is riding along with guests, such as characters from the ‘Fab Five,’ figures from Disney attractions, fan favorites from movies, and more.”
Epcot isn’t having all the Topiary fun, guests are still welcomed to Hollywood Studios by Sorcerer Mickey and his Broomsticks. This is such a great photo spot, especially as the Florida sun is starting to set.
My first stop was at Celebrity 5&10 to swap out my fuel rod, which by the way was the best $30 I have ever spent. I bought a fuel rod at the 5&10 two years ago and I never have to worry about my phone’s battery dying while I am on Disney Property.
Next stop was a food cart near the Chinese Theatre to get a Mickey Pretzel and a soda! Behind the cart, I saw signs of the upcoming attraction, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad. Let us know if you are excited for the new attraction!
I got a last minute Fast Pass for Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, located in Echo Park. Five minutes before the show started, the first two rows (reserved for guests in wheelchairs and with special needs) opened up and I got a second-row seat with an unobstructed view of the stage. The Royal Historians of Arendelle make the show with their humor and interaction with the audience.
Next up, I headed over to watch Jedi Training. The younglings light sabers glowed in the air as they learned the ways of the Force and tested their skills against the Dark Side. Watching Jedi Training at night is my new favorite thing.
I love the new Pixar Celebration on Pixar Avenue at Hollywood Studios. During the day, the interaction with the Super’s is pretty amazing, and so are the yummy treats. When leaving Pixar Place, be sure to look up to see what Jack-Jack is up to.
The most exciting new thing in the Park today was Dumbo displayed at One Man’s Dream promoting Disney’s Dumbo coming to theaters March 29, 2019. I don’t know about you but I am already planning to take a box of tissues with me to this movie.
There is nothing better than starting the day with Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and turns out it is also the best way to end the day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! I used my last fast pass of the day to live life in the fast lane and left the Park as the nighttime Fireworks went off in the background! Tonight was the best night ever.
