Walt Disney World Openings, Closing, Refurbishments, & More (as of March 20th, 2021)

Here’s our latest list of what’s open, what’s not open, what’s being refurbished, etc. at Walt Disney World Resort!

First off, the Refurbishments:

• From January 2022 through April 2022, the Samawati Springs Pool at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, Guests staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village may enjoy the Uzima Springs Pool at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
• Starting in April 2021, Disney’s Contemporary Resort will begin a refurbishment to reimagine Guest rooms. While some Main Tower rooms will be unavailable during the refurbishment, most resort areas and amenities will still be available for Guests to enjoy.
• Starting in February 2021, the Stormalong Bay waterslide will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, Stormalong Bay and the other 3 pools at Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will remain open.
• Magic Kingdom’s The Hall of Presidents is currently closed for refurbishment.
• Magic Kingdom’s Swiss Family Treehouse will be closed for refurbishment from Mar. 12 through Mar. 25.
• Magic Kingdom’s Mad Tea Party will be closed for refurbishment from Feb. 22 through Mar. 4.
• Animal Kingdom’s Kali River Rapids is closed for refurbishment from Jan. 4 through April 2.

Disney Water Parks

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is currently open. It reopened on March 7, 2021.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Parks are currently closed at this time.

Right now, Disney doesn’t have a list of what dining options are currently available. It’s best to refer to your My Disney Experience app or go online to make your dining reservations.
