The High Republic: Race To Crashpoint Tower – A Disney Nerds Book Club Review
We’re back with this month’s Disney Nerds Book Club Review! This month we’re back with The High Republic and we’re reading “Race To Crashpoint Tower” by Daniel José Older. This book is considered middle school age level but it goes deeper into a side story of events that occurred during The Republic Fair. We read more details during “The Rising Storm.”
We enter the story with everyone on the planet Valo preparing for The Republic Fair. Jedi Padawan Ram Jomaram is hiding out in his favorite place which is a garage. A security alarm goes off on a hilltop called Crashpoint Peak. Ram decides to investigate the alarm and he discovers that someone has disabled Valo’s communications tower. He becomes suspicious that the planet and the Republic Fair are in danger. Ram races to warn the Jedi and, as we know from “The Rising Storm,” the Nihil unleashes a surprise attack! Ram is left to face down the enemy at Crashpoint Tower and send a call for help to the Republic.
In addition to following Jedi Padawan Ram Jomaram, this book also follows Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh (Vern) who also helps with the fight at Crashpoint Tower and the fight against the Nihil.
Since this is a middle school-aged book, it is a quick read for an adult but it’s good to get some extra details in this part of Star Wars Cannon. Personally, I enjoy getting the extra details that you don’t get if you just stick with the adult-level books from The High Republic.
