Broadway comes to Epcot
This month brings the 2nd annual International Festival of the Arts to Epcot. What does that mean? That means more food, artist interaction, artwork, and, of course, more Broadway performances. It also appears Epcot is becoming the park of festivals but you won’t get any complaints from us.
I participated in last years festival but, unfortunately, this year I was not able to make it. However, we did have several Disney Nerds roaming the countries of World Showcase enjoying all that the festival had to offer including some great performances by Broadway actors.
The performers for the first weekend were Jenn Gambatese (known for Tarzan) and Kevin Massey (known for Tarzan). Check out these performances by this talented pair.
As you can tell they do a medley of Disney on Broadway music. That was Proud of Your Boy from Aladdin and Watch What Happens from Newsies.
Kevin and Jenn were also interviewed by The Disney Parks Blog recently. They shared their love for doing performances like this and interacting with the audience which is quite different from a Broadway stage performance.
Last year when I attended the festival I thought it was a great addition and something we would see again for years to come. With it’s popularity from last year, this festival is now full time with Broadway artists performing on the weekends. I will go out on a limb and say that next year we will see added performers and an extension from the weekend into the week.
The full list of entertainers for this festival is listed in our 12 Days of Announcements Blog post: Day 6. We hope you have a chance to enjoy the International Festival of the Arts and all it has to offer.
Thank you for reading and have a magical day!!!!

Just did our first Epcot Festival of the Arts. It was a blast! The food booths were fun (& delicious), and lots of very creative things to see. Great photo ops. Really enjoyed it!
