During the 50th Anniversary Celebration at Walt Disney World, guests will discover 5 new merchandise collections launching in October and November 2021.  Here is a preview of all 5 collections, new items include apparel, accessories, plush, homeware, keepsakes, collectibles and much more, in several different collections:

The Celebration Collection includes a wide-ranging assortment of commemorative merchandise for the whole family.
Drawing inspiration from Cinderella Castle, the Disney Castle Collection features everything from collectibles – such as ornaments and charms – to castle-inspired attire and a light-up, 50th anniversary-edition Minnie Mouse ear headband.
Disney fans and those who love all things vintage will be eager to unlock the Vault Collection that pays tribute to 50 years of Walt Disney World magic with an assortment of retro-themed designs right out of the Walt Disney Archives.
In line with new décor seen across Walt Disney World during the 50th-anniversary celebration, the EARidescent Collection features a shimmering array of themed fashions and accessories.
As the name implies, the Luxe Logo Collection offers a range of upscale pieces for the Disney collector.

New daytime entertainment is stirring at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, as “Disney KiteTails” comes alive several times daily beginning Oct. 1 at the Discovery River Theater. Performers fly windcatchers and kites of all shapes and sizes, while out on the water elaborate three-dimensional kites – some stretching to 30 feet long – depict Disney animal friends, including Simba, Zazu, Baloo, and King Louie. These colorful creations dance through the sky to the beat of favorite Disney songs in an uplifting, vibrant experience for the whole family.

Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto and Chip ‘n’ Dale – otherwise known as the “EARidescent 8” – dress in sparkling new looks, custom-made for this special occasion. Highlights of these celebratory designs include beautifully embroidered impressions of Cinderella Castle backed by fireworks, as well as a brocade in multi-toned, EARidescent fabric – all punctuated with pops of gold. Disney characters will also make appearances at Disney Resort hotels, dressed in their EARidescent best.

Beacons of Magic | Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary

Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” has begun. The 18 month-long event brings new attractions, nighttime spectaculars, and other magical experiences to Walt Disney World resort. Shining at the center of it all is Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park, welcoming guests with gleaming gold bunting, sparkling golden embellishments.

During the 50th-anniversary celebration, all of Walt Disney World’s theme parks icons transform at night into Beacons of Magic, each coming to life with their unique EARidescent glow. Cinderella Castle illuminates Magic Kingdom Park with a dazzling radiance and pixie-dust sparkle. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, a warm light emanates from the Tree of Life as fireflies gather to usher in the magic of nature. The Hollywood Tower Hotel at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is awash in brilliance, evoking the golden age of imagination and adventure. And at EPCOT, new lights shine across the reflective panels of Spaceship Earth, connecting like stars in a nighttime sky and creating a mesmerizing symbol of optimism. The iconic structure’s permanent new lighting will continue beyond “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” as a park’s defining feature. It also features Cinderella Castle’s first transition into one of the resort four “Beacons of Magic” Spreading magic across the sky, over a castle, and down a bustling street, the new “Disney Enchantment” nighttime spectacular debuts Oct. 1, 2021, at Magic Kingdom Park.

This dazzling new show helps kick-off “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” an 18-month event in honor of the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort. “Disney Enchantment” adds its own new chapter to the storied 50-year history of nighttime entertainment at Magic Kingdom in a breathtaking spectacle of Disney music, stunning fireworks, enhanced lighting, and immersive projection effects that extend for the first time from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A. It plays out above and around guests in ways never experienced before at The Most Magical Place on Earth. Inspiring everyone to believe in the magic that lives within them, “Disney Enchantment” features characters, moments, and music from cherished films from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios. The show’s stirring soundtrack is anchored by an emotional original song, “You Are the Magic,” written and performed by multiple GRAMMY® winner Philip Lawrence, whose musical career began as a Disney cast member performing in Walt Disney World shows. Cinderella Castle is aswirl in scenes of wonderment, thanks to state-of-the-art projection technology. Guests set sail across the sea with Moana, soar above the clouds on Aladdin’s magic carpet, and more. These projections extend down Main Street, U.S.A., complementing the images on the castle while creating an entirely new immersive and expansive environment for Magic Kingdom. Walt Disney World Harmonious World Premier! Recorded Opening Night September 29, 2021. Disney music serves as the world’s soundtrack across cultures, continents, and generations as a source of joy, hope, and possibility. Those emotions take center stage with “Harmonious,” a new senses-stirring nighttime spectacular debuting Oct. 1, 2021, at EPCOT. Launching in concert with “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” honoring 50 years of Walt Disney World Resort, “Harmonious” shines a light on 15 favorite Disney songs reimagined by a culturally diverse ensemble of 240 artists from around the globe, including musicians, composers, arrangers, vocalists and more. In total, the music was performed and recorded through more than 110 sessions in nine different countries.

The new show continues the multi-year transformation of EPCOT, the Disney theme park dedicated to human achievement and fellowship among nations. “Harmonious” takes EPCOT guests on a thrilling journey through new interpretations of classic Disney songs as they’ve never been heard before, inspired, and influenced by cultures and people from around the world. The music plays amid choreographed moving fountains and lights, lasers, fireworks, and other pyrotechnics bursting spectacularly above and around World Showcase Lagoon. “Music is the heart of any celebration, and Disney music touches people’s lives through powerful melodies and memorable lyrics that are inspiring — in any language,” said Steven Davison, executive creative director, Disney Live Entertainment. “The driving force of ‘Harmonious’ is the music, featuring voices of the world coming together to share in timeless Disney songs.” EPCOT guests gathering on the shores of World Showcase Lagoon are treated to a magnificent cultural symphony, dramatizing the unifying power of story and song. The Walt Disney Imagineering Blue Sky Cellar opened at Disney California Adventure in 2009.  It has served as a preview center for coming attractions at the park since, featuring sketches, painting, and 3D models providing a behind-the-scenes look at how Disney artists, architects and engineers bring the ideas to reality.  In 2018 the exhibit focused on the design and reimagination of Pixar Pier, inspired by a classic seaside boardwalk in California.

Anne Murray in Disney World (1991) Teenage Mutant

January 6, 1991 – The Orlando Sentinel reported that Anne Murry would be at Walt Disney World to star in a one-hour Canadian television special. The special was to be broadcast on Canadian television (CBC) later in 1991. Anne would be performing at various locations throughout the parks. The musical variety show would include special guests Julio Iglesias and Patti LaBelle. The show was also featured on the cover of the February 24 – March 2 Sunday Fun Television Magazine in 1991 “Anne Murray and some cute cutups at Disney World”. In addition to Julio Iglesias and Patti LaBelle, Anne was also joined by Andrea Martin, Paul Janz, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Mickey Mouse.  We get a look at the Disney MGM Studios including the Indiana Jones stunt speculator, and Pleasure Island.[embedded content]

Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary is around the corner, Disney parks around the world are getting ready for the holiday season, and Disney Cruise lines turn to the stars for a first-of-its-kind interactive experience on the high seas.

In Walt Disney World, preparation for the 50th Anniversary is in full swing. The 18-month long celebration begins Oct. 1, 2021, featuring two new nighttime spectaculars: HarmonioUS at Epcot and Enchantment at the Magic Kingdom, KiteTails, a daytime show at the animal kingdom, the Fab 50 character collection scattered all over the resort, and so much more – be sure to check out Sams Disney News 50th-anniversary preview for more.
Disney will be letting the Genie out of the lamp this fall.  The new complimentary digital service is designed to help create your best Disney day ever.  Built into the My Disney Experience and the Disneyland apps, the Disney Genie service will help you maximize your park time. The service includes a personalized itinerary feature that will quickly and seamlessly map out an entire day.  Also announced and available at an additional cost, Disney Genie+ and individual attraction selection for the new Lightning lane entrance to select attractions. The lightning lane replaces Disney fast pass, fastpass+, and Disneylands Max pass offerings.  The new service is set to roll out later this fall.

Disneyland has introduced the Magic Key program, a guest-centric offering that delivers choice, flexibility, and value for annual park admission. While Walt Disney World introduced the new Annual Passholder program ranging from the Pixie Dust Pass to the Incredia-pass, annual passes are available now just in time for the 50th Anniversary
It’s Halloween at Disneyland, and they are celebrating this year marks the 20th time Jack Skellington has visited the 999 Happy Haunts who dwell in the Haunted Mansion, transforming this attraction into Haunted Mansion Holiday. Each year, Jack dresses up as “Sandy Claws” as he and his ghost dog Zero bring ghoulish delights from Halloween Town to visit Disneyland Park. This year’s Haunted Mansion Holiday beckons guests from Sept. 3-Oct. 31, 2021
One of Jack’s holiday traditions is leaving a special treat for the ghosts who dance around the Haunted Mansion’s Grand Hall. The annual centerpiece for this “waltz of the weird” is always a massive, creepy gingerbread creation. With each year, Jack delivers new and thrilling surprises. The Ghost Host of Haunted Mansion Holiday says, “even a gingerbread house can be scary,” and this year’s design lives up to that description. For the 2021 mansion, designers went to the graveyard to reincarnate elements from all 19 previous years. An aspect from each year was stitched together to create the 2021 version, a Dr. Finkelstein-esque mashup.
At California Adventure, guests are in for a scary treat as the Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout attraction transforms into Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark. The chaos of creatures on the loose and Rocket scheming to save Groot adds to the high-energy action, only during Halloween Time.

Over at Epcot Space 220 is set to lift off in mid-September, located between mission: space and test track space 220 starts with a ride aboard a “space elevator” transporting you 220 miles above the earth, for an out of this work dining experience – with a view that is, Out of this world. The upscale, contemporary fare will bring new meaning to “the height of dining!”

Disney’s Aulani Resort celebrated its 10th Anniversary with an Aulani top 10, Including Mickey and Minnie in their new Aloha attire, greetings with Stitch and Angel even Duffy and friends.  What can be better than a dole whip in paradise? Two words, Shave Ice!
The west side of Disney Springs is buzzing once again; the Cirque De Soleil “Drawn to life” is set to reopen on Nov. 18… with tickets already on sale.
Drawn to Life is a collaboration between Cirque du Soleil, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Walt Disney Imagineering. The show is about the love between a father and a daughter with a story inspired by Disney’s 100-year heritage of animation. The family-friendly show brings timeless Disney stories and characters to life in an unforgettable way using innovative design, acrobatic performances, dazzling choreography, musical scores, and brand new animations.

Construction of the Disney Wish, the latest Disney cruise lines ship, continues in Germany.    The Bridge or Wheelhouse of the vessel was recently installed, Along with the last piece of the bow of the ship giving the Wish its identity.   The Disney Wish is scheduled to make its Maiden voyage in June 2022.
Disney Cruise Lines also unveiled the new Disney uncharted Adventure, the first of its’ kind interactive experience.   The experience will lead guests on a journey from bow to stern and beyond the stars onboard the Disney wish.  Captain Minnie Mouse will help you prepare for the trip by highlighting the important role of the night sky in seafaring. Once onboard, you will use your spyglass to reveal never-before-seen views of the stars above, where enchanted constellations take shape as recognizable icons from Disney and Pixar stories. Along the way, you will join the heroic characters who inhabit each destination on a mission to find the star fragment:  Moana, Tiana, Tinker Bell will help on the journey and you’ll get to dive into the EAC with Nemo and friends.
