Earlier today, Walt Disney World Hollywood Studios debuted the new “Grand Avenue” area featuring the “BaseLine Tap House” and the new “Walt Disney Presents” Gallery showcasing new lands and attractions scheduled for Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The Disney Nerds Podcast was represented during the media event held September 29th, 2017 in the new facilities. Photos in this report are from that event.
A look at the BaseLine Tap House from Muppets courtyard
The BaseLine Tap House, a lively corner pub specializing in California beer and wines, is part of the new Grand Avenue area of Hollywood Studios. According to Disney, Grand Avenue is designed to capture the spirit of present-day Downtown Los Angeles. BaseLine Tap House pays homage to the Figueroa Printing Company, a mom-and-pop print house that has ties to the Disney Studio in nearby Burbank. The space features architectural and mechanical details with exposed walls and old printing equipment, blending the past and present in an inviting space. BaseLine Tap House celebrates the revitalization of Downtown Los Angeles with

California Wines on tap and specialty cocktails. A gourmet non-alcoholic lemonade and soda on tap along with small bites including a Bavarian pretzel, spiced almonds and a charcuterie board featuring California cheeses.
NOTES:BaseLine is open daily at 11:00 am. As of opening, the location does NOT accept Tables in Wonderland, Disney Dining Plan or any other discounts. There is no hostess stand or dining reservations; the location is 100% walk up. Lots of outdoor seating and reasonable pricing are sure to make BaseLine a new fan favorite. The Non-Alcoholic Lemonade and Black Cherry Soda are very good, a perfect child friendly option. Yes, you can find at least one Hidden Mickey, and a special tribute to the locations previous tenant, The Writers Stop. (Both can be found in the Photo Report below)
A new Marquee for One Mans Dream – Now “Walt Disney Presents”
Walt Disney Presents – The renamed and reimagined One Man’s Dream attraction offers a self-guided stroll through Disney History. From Mickey Mouse to the Magic Kingdom, guests are transported into the life and legacy of the man who started it all – Walt Disney. In addition, guests can now get an insider’s look at the new Toy Story Land that opens next summer. The sneak peek is part of the new Walt Disney Presents gallery that opened September 8, 2017. The gallery is home to the never-before-seen model of the new land, concept rendering and maquettes of attraction vehicles and icons. Visitors of the gallery will also discover a model of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, scheduled to open in 2019, and concept art of the Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction currently in development. Walt Disney Presents will also host character greetings as well as special sneak previews of upcoming Disney films – currently Guardians of the Galaxy.
NOTES: As the new marquee says, this is being promoted as three separate attractions under one roof; Coming Soon, Meet and Greet and One Mans Dream. The attraction starts with the History of Walt Disney: this is basically the traditional attraction, from the beginning until the Magic Kingdom near the left turn into the building. From that turn you will notice some new exhibits and some relocated exhibits including DCA, Disneyland Jungle Cruise and the original Abraham Lincoln Audio Animatronic. The Toy Story Model is more-or-less where the Walt Disney Florida Project was, with the piece of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Runaway Railroad concept art across from it. (This is a very small piece of the full Galaxy’s Edge model shown at the D23 Expo). The Meet and Greet is in the same location with a small gift shop and some movie props before entering the theater. The theater is currently showing “One Mans Dream”. This is the original movie with Julie Andrews narrating – at least for now. Photos below.

Sam has been visiting Walt Disney World since 1986. The spark from those early trips lead to an interest in the "How" and "Why" behind Disney Parks and Resorts and the thrill of discovering the history of how we got here today. That History is still being written. In addition to participating on The Disney Nerds Podcast you can find blogs at www.samsdisneydiary.com
