Baby Care Centers at Walt Disney World

Today we’re taking a look at the Baby Care Centers at Walt Disney World!

If you’ve ever taken a baby or toddler out in public, you understand the struggle. Restroom changing tables are often hard and cold. Sometimes they’re barely affixed to the wall or hung incorrectly. Because of that, you end up changing a diaper on a slanted surface (which takes a fair bit of talent and coordination). When it’s time for your child to eat, your choices are often limited to uncomfortable high chairs that no child wants to sit in or keeping them in the stroller. Let’s be honest, once the food is served it’s impossible to keep a stroller from getting gross.

For nursing mothers, there’s even more to think about. Do you nurse wherever your baby is hungry? Do you try to find a private, secluded area to feed your child? And don’t even get me started on pumping in a public place. That’s virtually impossible.

Despite these struggles, new parents and young families often choose to spend their vacations at Walt Disney World. It’s possible they planned their trip years in advance and didn’t know they’d be carrying a newborn through multiple theme parks. Maybe they have older children that couldn’t wait a few more years to enjoy the Resort. Maybe they’re just that dedicated. Whatever the reason Disney has provided a special haven for all of these parental needs. It’s an air-conditioned Mecca complete with water coolers, bottle warmers, the knowing smiles of fellow parents, and, in true Disney style, a gift shop. (No, I’m serious. There’s actually an area selling baby supplies.)

Welcome to the Baby Care Center!

There is a Baby Care facility in each of the four Disney theme parks.  The locations are:

~ Near Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom

~ Next to the Odyssey at Epcot

~At the Africa bridge gate in Animal Kingdom

~ Inside Guest Services at Hollywood Studios.

Each location has large, soft changing tables, baby and toddler-friendly eating areas, a sitting area with TV, and private nursing/pumping locations. As I previously mentioned, there’s also a wide range of supplies for sale including diapers, baby food, formula, and other necessities. You do have to park your stroller outside most of the locations (except for Animal Kingdom), but it’s worth it for such unique and well-equipped facilities.
