A Fond Farewell to Epcot International Festival of the Arts

Epcot International Festival of the Arts has come to an end, but it continues to inspire. Let’s take a look back on some of the inspiring artwork. Louis Lochead Art at the Pop Gallery Tent was one of my favorites. The detail in his pieces of fine art is nothing less than inspiring. His artwork is made using only hand torn pieces of magazines and his imagination. He does not use ink or paint. His “Freddie Mercury” original, priced at $4,200 is composed of pieces from magazines related to the band Queen, Freddie Mercury and even includes parts of the Spanish Map from Disney Springs to honor “Barcelona” written by Freddie Mercury and performed with Montserrat Caballe. Though the festival has ended, Louis Lochead Art can be found at Pop Gallery at Disney Springs where prints of “Freddie Mercury” start at $100.

The Side Walk Chalk Art was something special as well. New free hand art was always popping up and it made me want to run out and get some side walk chalk and start drawing on my sidewalk.

The Incredible interactive 3D side walk chalk art brought something super to life at the festival. This 3D work of art also doubled as a photo spot where guests could stand on Frozone’s ice bridge to become part of the scene.

The festival also inspired with food that became works of art around World Showcase. I will miss the Sushi Donut from Takumi Table (Located in the Japan Pavilion). The  Citrus-soy Gelée and Wasabi on the side was like heaven! I was told by a Cast Member that it is an easy way to start to learn the art of sushi making. The sushi donut molds can be found on Amazon here.

2019 Epcot Festival of The Arts

As the sun sets on Epcot International Festival of the Arts, there are signs of spring on the horizon as we look forward to Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival that is sure to bring more inspiration, and artwork found in World Showcase.
