Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy Debuts This Weekend!

Lightning McQueen and his friends are arriving at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios this Sunday, March 31^st! Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy is a new show that invites guests into the Pixar Cars films to become rookie racers and learn the rules of the road from Lightning McQueen himself! He is a Piston Cup Champion after all!

 

Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy is located next to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith. Guests will get to see Lightning on stage in front of a 17-foot tall wraparound screen that stretches more than 200 feet! Lightning will share his racing knowledge that he’s gathered over his career. But we all know that Lightning didn’t get those wins on his own, he had a little help from his friends. Mater, Cruz Ramirez, and other friends from Radiator Springs will be there to help show you the way!

The 10-minute show will run continuously throughout the day at Hollywood Studios. Once the race is over, guests will continue their journey in an outside courtyard. They will be able to meet Cruz and get a photo, or dance with a new friend, DJ. DJ made his way to Hollywood Studios on Route 66 and brings his own music mix to the courtyard. Also several times a day in the courtyard, Lightning McQueen’s pit crew will arrive for “DJ’s Ready! Set! Party Time!” This allows guests to gather around DJ for Cars inspired dances and games.
