“Wonderful World of Animation” debuts this week for Hollywood Studios’ 30th

There’s a new nighttime show coming to Hollywood Studios this week! “Wonderful World of Animation” will make it’s debut officially on May 1st. This show will take you on a journey through 90 years of Disney animation utilizing state of the art projection mapping technology and more.

The Disney Parks Live Entertainment team have been working on the show for months and are not ready to debut it! They are currently in the final stages of programming and preparation to make sure it’s perfect for guests.

Over the last few weeks, the production team and creative designers have gone into Hollywood Studios after it’s closed for the day to fine tune everything to get it right for the Grand Opening. Click here for a look behind the scenes!

“Wonderful World of Animation” begins with Mickey Mouse. The Chinese Theater where everything is projected on will transform into a black and white world of the classic short film, “Mickey’s Gala Premiere.” From there, the show will burst with full color! It will celebrate Mickey’s staring role in Fantasia. Then it will go into sequences filled with magic, family, adventure, romance, villainy, and friendship! The iconic images from Disney animation we all know and love. Each of these themes are brought to life through moments from Disney and Pixar animated films like “Coco,” “The Incredibles,” “Sleeping Beauty,” and “Ralph Breaks the Internet.”

This sounds like the perfect way to end your day at Hollywood Studios!

Also, did you know that this week is Hollywood Studio’s 30th birthday?! This amazing show will make its debut for Hollywood Studios’ birthday.
