New Holiday Experience is Coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom is getting some updated holiday fun this year!
Disney Parks Blog announced some amazing updates to Animal Kingdom this holiday season including new entertainment and holiday décor in every land!
They also say that Discovery Island will be the center point of the holiday celebration.
Discovery Island will celebrate winter with decorations by the eclectic community of artists who make the island their home. The village will have a sparkling white holiday décor. It’s described to have colorful, animal-inspired luminaries that will line the rooftops, and wireframe lanterns in the shape of beautiful birds perched throughout the area. There will also be winter animals, created as life-size, artisan-sculpted puppets throughout Discovery Island too! There will be Reindeer, foxes, polar bears, penguins, and more that will interact with guests. The puppets will be accompanied by musicians who will create some festive fun!
Now if the daytime fun wasn’t enough, imagine the rooftop luminaries and bird lanterns all around Discovery Island lit up!
This sounds like a beautiful sight and it’s described to give a warm and festive glow to the village! Also at night, the Tree of Life will awaken and tell a wintry tale which will be complemented by a familiar and heartwarming holiday musical score. Between the awakening moments, the Tree of Life will continue to shimmer and sparkle throughout the night, alive with the magic of nature and the spirit of the holidays.
How amazing does this sound?!? Personally, I love the additions to the holiday décor at Animal Kingdom. I think it’s about time because Animal Kingdom didn’t seem to get as much holiday fun as the other parks during this time of year. I can’t wait to see it! How about you?
