Bob Iger Takes Back Control at Disney to help with Coronavirus Impact

In February, the announcement was made. Bob Iger was to step down as Disney CEO effective immediately. A lot has changed since February. Today, Disney announced that Bob Iger will take back control of Disney. This is no doubt because of the global coronavirus outbreak which has heavily affected the company. All Disney parks have been closed for an unprecedented amount of time, theater releases of Disney & Marvel films have been rescheduled, and much more.

It makes sense that Bob Iger take taken back the reigns since he has been running the show for so long. According to The New York Times, Mr. Iger is focused on remaking the company that will come out of this crisis deeply changed.

Richard Plepler, the former HOB chief said to The New York Times, “It’s a matter of great good fortune that he didn’t just leave. This is a moment where people first and foremost are looking to an example of leadership that has proved itself over an extended period of time — and Bob personifies that.”

We couldn’t agree more. We can’t forget everything Bob Iger has done to grow the Disney company and we all know that his knowledge and experience will help in this new chapter.
