Regatta Run 3k at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club
A couple of years ago, I found out about the fun runs at different Disney resorts and did my first run, the Beignet Dash at Port Orleans- French Quarter. It was a wonderful event and had me hooked to do more! So on my last trip, before the park shut down, I tried another one. I did the Regatta Run at the Yacht & Beach Club!
The Regatta Run is a 3k (or 1.86 miles)
The race begins at the Bayside Marina at the Yacht Club side of the Yacht & Beach Club Resort. The run starts at 8 am costs $15 and they recommend arriving 30 mins before race time so you can register. You can also try to call the resort ahead of time to register by calling 1-(407)WDW-PLAY (939-7529).
This race is one of the longer ones (the Beignet Dash was 1.5 miles) but it gives you a great chance to run (or walk) around the Yacht Club and Boardwalk area. The trail starts at the Bayside Marina (which is near the lighthouse) and takes the path towards the Boardwalk resort and then towards Hollywood Studios. The path stops right under the bridge to Hollywood Studios and you turn around to go back and stop where you started at Bayside Marina.
Regatta Run Swag!
Unlike the Beignet Dash, there are no beignets or other treats waiting for you besides water, a banana, or other snacks that are beneficial to eat after a run. But at the end of the race but there’s also a nice swag bag! You get to select a small bag with one of the cute nautical themes. But it’s what inside the bag that counts! In the bag, you’ll find a pair of sunglasses, a pair of earbuds in a convenient carrying case, and a Regatta Run pin! All the items say Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort on them and it’s a great reminder of this fun run!!
Now that I’ve got another resort fun run under my belt, I must say I’m hooked! I love them and they’re early enough that they don’t affect any time in the park or they’re a great way to start your non-park day! With the parks reopening this week, I have my fingers crossed that the resort fun runs will return as well. I can’t wait to plan more for my next Disney trip!
