Limited Number of Spots for RunDisney Wine & Dine Open TOMORROW

Last week RunDisney announced that November’s Wine and Dine Half Marathon weekend was going virtual. Participants who were registered for any of the races were given the option to get a full refund or participate in the virtual race and still get your medal and other items. We covered all the options in our post last week about the announcement.

Today, RunDisney has announced that they are going to open a “limited number of additional registration opportunities” for the races TOMORROW at 10 am EST. As of now, there are no details on how many spots will be open or what races will be available. We found the announcement via Twitter this morning:

“We’d like to share that the runDisney 2020 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend powered by AfterSHOKZ has taken on a new twist – it’s now a virtual event!  Although the race weekend events won’t take place at Walt Disney World this year, all registered runners for the 2020 Wine & Dine Half Marathon race weekend will have the opportunity, if they choose, to transfer their registrations to the new virtual version and show off their inner Disney Villain, running right from their own neighborhood, home gym, or wherever they choose to run!

Not registered for the fall event? We are opening additional registration opportunities on a limited basis for Guests who wish to participate in the virtual Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend events. Get excited for this year’s wickedly delicious virtual menu of events that celebrate some of the most beloved Disney Villains. Prepare to lace up your sneakers for some spellbinding miles with this year’s individual event themes:

  • Kronk and Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove | Disney Wine & Dine 5K
  • Ursula from The Little Mermaid | Disney Wine & Dine 10K
  • The Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs | Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon
  • Oogie Boogie and Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas | Two Course Challenge
  • Captain Hook and Smee from Peter Pan | runDisney Kids Races
Don’t miss out on all the fun! For those planning to participate in the virtual version of the 2020 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, you’ll want to take a look at the Finisher Medals, fitting for even the most evil villain.

What better way to step out than in villainous style? Our virtual runners will receive event weekend tech shirts, adding to your wickedly wonderful at-home miles. Take a look:

Runners can also look forward to other online goodies coming soon to enhance their virtual running experience like printable bibs and mile markers, a themed playlist, finishers certificates and more!

Previously registered runners of the 2020 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend have until August 5 to choose if they would like to participate in the virtual event. Other Guests wanting to register for one of the limited remaining event spots can plan to do so beginning on July 30 – head over to the event website for more information.

All registered participants will receive an email from runDisney and be given the option to transfer their event registration to the virtual Disney’s Wine & Dine race event or may opt for a refund instead. New participants will need to register via runDisney.com beginning 10am ET on July 30, 2020.”
