Ye Haa Bob Jackson among those laid off with Disney

It’s very sad that we have to report that our friend, “Ye Haa” Bob Jackson announced last night that his shows will not be returning to Walt Disney World.

On his Facebook last night, he made the announcement and since then there has been an outpouring of sadness from park guests.

Bob Jackson has been a staple at the River Roost at Walt Disney World’s Port Orleans-Riverside Resort. He has entertained guests with Disney for 23 years. He’s even been a staple of some impromptu and not so impromptu meetups of The Disney Nerds Podcast. Many of our co-hosts have not considered a trip to Walt Disney World complete without enjoying one of Bob Jackson’s shows.

Here’s a video of one of Bob Jackson’s live performances from 2017:

Bob Jackson has been one of the many Disney employees that have been furloughed since March and never had the chance to return to the River Roost or any other location on the property since the park’s reopening. Port Orleans-Riverside Resort is still closed due to limited capacity at the parks.

If you follow Bob Jackson of social media, you will still have a chance to catch his live performances from home.

This announcement comes on the heels of hearing that The Grand Floridian Society Orchestra will also no longer perform at Walt Disney World. These announcements will unfortunately not be the last as Disney also announcement layoffs yesterday.

It is truly sad to hear of Bob Jackson and other amazing entertainers losing their employment with Disney. Personally, I believe that the entertainers make up Walt Disney World just as much, if not more, than any attraction on property. I just hope that we don’t lose anymore Disney treasures like Bob Jackson.
