Several More Lay Offs At Walt Disney World
Yesterday Disney announced more layoffs for cast members. This time the casts of our beloved live shows at Walt Disney World were on the chopping block.
Disney has reported mass layoffs of performers of the following shows:
Citizens of Hollywood
Citizens of Main Street
Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor
Festival of the Lion King
Finding Nemo — The Musical
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review
Beauty and the Beast Live!
Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular.
Green Army Men
Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire
Christmas around the World
Turtle Talk with Crush
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Disney Junior Live Dance Party
Citizens of Main Street
While we hate seeing this list and seeing any cast member lose their job, we also hope that this is temporary. Unfortunately, the massive amounts of layoffs for cast members at the parks all over the world are a glimpse and the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the Walt Disney company. We’re beyond saddened to hear about all of the layoffs and the loss of magic their absence to the parks brings.
