Updates to Walt Disney World’s Mask Policy: Optional in Most Locations

It’s a day that it seems we’ve been waiting for a LONG time! Today Walt Disney World updated their website pertaining to wearing face masks and social distancing in the parks.

The update is as follows:

With the hot summer days upon us in Central Florida, this is a welcome update! Walt Disney World will still continue their cleaning standards since their reopening last July. This also means that cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer stations will still be available around the parks.

So if you have an upcoming trip to Walt Disney World and are fully vaccinated, you only need a face mask to use Disney transportation. We assume that this means that those cramped buses at the end of the park day will be back as well as sharing the skyliner and monorail compartments with other groups. Personally, I’m ok with that if it means I don’t have to wear a mask around the parks!
