There are lots of perks associated with being a Disney Vacation Club Member.  Maybe one of the coolest is being able to attend DVC Moonlight Magic.  It’s an after-hours in-park event, available to DVC members at no cost.   Events have historically taken place in each Walt Disney World Park, including the water parks and Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim.

Think of it as a hard ticketed event where the ticket is complimentary to DVC members, assuming you can get one.   You’ll need to watch the DVC member page for announcements. Typically, registration is available to guests with a DVC resort reservation first, then open to all DVC members.  Only time will tell if that’s still the case post-Covid-19.

The event includes access to select attractions, with shorter-than-usual wait times, of course, meet-and-greets with Disney Characters.   I’m not talking about the traditional meet and greets; I’m talking about characters you don’t see daily.  Be aware, those meet and greets will have lines longer than most attractions.   The event will have at least one DJ Dance Party, more depending on the park; and like a hard ticketed event, complimentary refreshments are available – can you say Free Mickey Bars!   Of course, there are limited-time food and beverage offerings and merchandise.

The nightly entertainment is also a special event.  While Magic Kingdom had showcased “Happily Ever After” earlier in the day, during the Moonlight Magic event, a second impressive fireworks presentation, Moonlight Magic Blast is a must-see, and the subject for this edition of SamsDisneyDiary

Sam has been visiting Walt Disney World since 1986. The spark from those early trips lead to an interest in the "How" and "Why" behind Disney Parks and Resorts and the thrill of discovering the history of how we got here today. That History is still being written. In addition to participating on The Disney Nerds Podcast you can find blogs at www.samsdisneydiary.com
