Mirror, Mirror: A Twisted Tale – A Disney Nerds Book Club Review
This month, we’re asking the question, What if the Evil Queen poisoned the prince?
We’re talking about the 6th book in The Twisted Tales Series, “Mirror, Mirror” by Jen Calonita. This tale takes place in the tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
We meet Snow White after the death of her mother and the “Evil Queen” has taken control of the kingdom. Snow White is still in the castle, just keeping her head down to avoid her stepmother. But Snow White learns that maybe what happened to her parents isn’t what we thought.
One good thing about this book is that we get more of a back story on “The Prince” and the “Evil Queen,” as well as Snow White’s parents. First off, the “Evil Queen” gets a name, Ingrid. I think this makes the story a lot better.
From other Twisted Tales that I’ve read, this is not one of my favorites but it’s always good to read a retelling and new version of our beloved Disney Fairy Tales.
