A Disney Nerd’s Review of Bollywood Beats

On March 3, 2019, the all-new Bollywood Beats show debuted at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and I caught the 4 pm show.

Disney celebrates cultural diversity through storytelling. Disney storytelling can be seen in feature films, short films, television, print media, vacations and of course in the Disney Parks.
Not only does storytelling bring people together, but it also teaches cultural awareness.  It brings the rich traditions of different cultures to each of the Disney Parks in many ways.

I loved everything about this high energy Indian dance experience. It combines traditional Indian dance with the richness of Hindi Film. Each show lasts just under 15 minutes and begins with 5 performers chanting and clapping as they make their way to the stage. It’s located across from the Anandapur Theater in Asia. The performers invited the audience to come close to the stage. Then they encouraged participation throughout the experience as they taught guests of all ages the folk style of Bhangra and modern Bollywood dance moves.

Throughout the show, the performers tell the audience how each move tells a story and it is absolutely beautiful. Not only are the dance moves of the incredibly talented performers beautiful but the costumes are vivid and gorgeous. Bollywood Beats is presented several times daily at the stage across from the Anandapur Theater in Asia (across from UP! A Great Bird Adventure).  I can’t wait to experience this dance show again and again.
