What’s New At The Studios-January 23rd 2018

Welcome back to our weekly look at the Hollywood Studios.

The Studios new exit drive has been paved making the whole new section of road is ready to go, with the second entrance off Lake Buena Vista drive serving as an exit only after Battu opens in Fall of 2019.

A classic studios merchandise stand is back on Sunset Blvd. That’s right; the small ole red trolly car is back open for your shopping pleasure.  A familiar feature on the street up until 2014, visitors can once again purchase their hats, popcorn and other delicious snacks right off the trolley.

No longer will you find both video screen billboards on Sunset Blvd that added to the holiday Tower of Terror Projection show. The one near the Sunset Market is gone while the remaining billboard continues to promote Fantasmic!

Ready your pocketbooks, the Crait speeder and a Yoda sweatshirt are brand new this week at Mickey’s of Hollywood and other stores at the Studios. 

There is a new construction wall at the exit of the Chinese theater. Workers are finally working on what was the load and exit of the former Great Movie Ride. Hopefully some word on Mickey’s and Minnies Runaway Railroad attraction is coming soon.

Sorry shoppers, still no opening of the Stage One store area that has been closed since fall of last year.

This winter season relax and warm up indoors on the second level of Rizzo’s Pizza. You will spot some awesome muppet wall photos on this quiet second level as you enjoy your antipasto salad, meatball sub, or other Italian menu delight. Watch for early closing times.

Concluding this week with a fresh look at Battu through the camera lens. Lots of overhead crane activity this week as the 2019 deadline continues to approach.
