The Mystery Person at the Tower of Terror
I’m looking forward to Galaxy’s Edge’s opening for another reason than most people. Once it does, one of my favorite rides is gonna have no wait time. “Cue the Twilight Zone music here…” We are all aware that Disney Hollywood Studio’s Tower of Terror is haunted. Those poor people who lost their lives in that horrible elevator accident so long ago, so sad. Their tortured souls continuing on a hellish after-life of park-opening to park-closing wandering around that hallway and stuck in that darn elevator. 15 times an hour they reveal themselves to 1000’s of strangers. Well did you know there is another? Another lost soul in the Tower of Terror? Well, there is.
We discovered this poor trapped spirit about 5 years ago as we were leaving the Tower. Who knows how long it’s been there. That night, after riding the Tower for the third time in a row, we left through the store as always. The boy was looking for something in the there so I continued on and waited outside. I was bored and as I usually do, started looking around. It’s Disney after-all, you never know what you’ll find. And, true to form, I was not disappointed.
So, I’m leaning against the wall across from the Tower store and looking up at the building and I see the patio where you enter the building when you’re on line. Above that is the long, tall building built around that famed but flawed elevator shaft. It’s great how detailed the building is even on the side and behind. As my eyes were drifting higher and higher I noticed a light toward the back of the Hotel. It really stood out. I actually said out loud, “I wonder what that is”? I was thinking about a back room for machinery or maybe even the control room.
Is he looking at me?
But, as I looked closer, I thought I saw someone…looking…down…at…me. That could not be. I was getting a little excited at this point. To see something new like this set off a couple of different thought processes in my head. The first was just literally, “Has that been here the whole time, from day one and I just missed it”?
After accepting that possibility I moved onto thought number 2. And here is why Disney Parks are the best, now I get to find out all about who this is. I tried for more detail and grabbed the camera for the zoom and got up close and personal, but with no ideas from that moved onto the fearless Tower employees. We asked the couple that were working the FastPass line entrance and they had nothing for us. You can tell when a castmember is either holding back or does not know and I got the feeling they did not know. More inquiries in the store and back inside on the next ride all led to, “Not sure what you mean” or an “I can assure you all guests have been accounted for.”
I will continue my research but wanted to bring you in on the mystery. What do you think guys? Do you know the answer to this mystery? Please drop a note in the comments and let us know!
