Disney’s Animal Kingdom has BIG plans for Earth Day this year!

From April 18-22, Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World will host special entertainment and activities and end with an all-day extravaganza on Earth Day, April 22nd.

Each day will have an amazing lineup of speakers and entertainment, limited-edition merchandise signings, behind-the-scenes tours, character greetings, photo opportunities, special Wilderness Explorers activities, and of course specialty food & beverage!

Wild By Nature Speaker Series

During the week, they will have the “Wild by Nature Speaker Series” which you will get to hear from some of the animal experts at Animal Kingdom, in addition to educators and conservation “Heroes.” This will all take place at the Theater in the Wild. Also added to the series will be Explorers and Photographers from National Geographic. They will be there to share their stories from their explorations as well as wildlife photography and video techniques.

Tiffins Talks

One of the most well-known Walt Disney Imagineers, Joe Rhode, will also take part in the celebration. He will be hosting “Tiffins Talks” which will feature a four-course meal and discussions with Joe about his research trips and personal exhibitions from his life.

DisneyNature Films

There will also be a special look at the Disneynature films, Elephant and Dolphin Reef, which will debut on Disney+ in April. Roy Conli, who is the producer of the films will be hosting discussions.

Animation Experience

For those Animation Experience fans, head over to the Conservation Station and there will be special Disney characters featured during this experience in honor of the Earth Day celebration!

Part of the reason for this whole celebration is the Disney Conservation Fund, which is celebrating it’s 25th Anniversary on Earth Day 2020. The Walt Disney Company is committed to ensuring that we live in a world where wildlife thrives, and nature is treasured. The Disney Conservation Fund will showcase 25 global wildlife heroes during the celebration. Some of these amazing heroes will present during “Stores from the Field.” They will recount some incredible moments in their work of helping to save at-risk wildlife in the world. These stories will also be featured in a special edition 25th anniversary book called “Disney Conservation Legacy.” This book will be available in the parks during the Earth Day celebration.

BORN WILD: EARTH DAY LIVE

Now if you can’t make it to Animal Kingdom, don’t worry! The park will be one of the places featured in a live global television event called “BORN WILD: EARTH DAY LIVE.” This broadcast will be on April 22nd at 8pm EST and shown on National Geographic and Nat Geo WILD. This special will showcase National Geographic Explorers and ABC News anchors who will take you into some fascinating and beautiful environments all over the world. You’ll be able to see the beauty of different animals and their habitats.

This sounds like an Earth Day experience you don’t want to miss!
