Mandalorian S2 E3 Chap. 11; We Found a Hidden Love Message

Chap. 11, the Heiress, is the latest episode in the epic Disney Plus show, The Mandalorian.  I found one hell of a hidden message while watching it for the second time the other night.  Either Mando’s ship, the Razor Crest, is in love with him, or one of Jon Favreau’s special effects artists hid a mushy message for their spouse.

Since the Disney company bought the Star Wars franchise there have been a lot of great changes.  One of the coolest new ‘worlds’ is the Galaxy Edge location in Disney Parks.  There are so many layers of Star Wars nerdiness in that land and one big thing I took away from there was that they used a language called Aurebesh for almost anything written.  The My Disney Experience app even has a translator to help you figure out what is being written.  Here is a sample.

It seems that Lucasarts has been using this language for a while and as I went back and re-watched SW movies and animation I kept seeing Aurebesh lettering.  It soon got to the point where I really wondered if the animators and special effects artists took the time to actually use real words and sentences that are then translated to Aurebesh.  Long answer short…they do.

This brings us to this interesting episode of The Mandalorian and a mystery Easter Egg.  A lot of great things went on in this chapter and if you want to hear a recap of it, check out Womprat Radio.  For this post, no spoilers, kind of.

I saw this hidden message as the Razor Crest was landing on Trask.  As they are landing, Mando’s control screen is flashing a message in the top left corner.  I hit the pause and was able to get a quick translation and the message was right on…”Landing Gear Offline.”  Perfect for what was going on in Mando’s crazy day.

Then, after a quick pan to the ship and Mando it goes back to his control screen, but this time the message looked different.  I did another quick translation and got a very big surprise.  This time, the emergency message urgently flashing on his screen said, “Of Course I Still Love You.”  I checked that a couple of times, and it came up the same, “Of Course I Still Love You.”

Then, right before he lands the error message switches back to the original, “Landing Gear Offline”.  So now comes the fun part.  What was that all about?  Does the Razor Crest still love Mando like the Falcon loves Han?  I really could not come up with what this could be in the storyline, so now I’m thinking whoever was doing the screen animation was getting a quick message out that was supposed to not be seen by 99.9% of the audience.  Think back to that Playboy cover in the window in NY in the Rescuers.  No one was ever supposed to see that…until it came out on video.

So WHO still loves WHO?  What do you think?  Jon?  Bryce?  Spill!

Hello all! I have been going to WDW since 1976 and can't count the number of trips along with some cruises. I love all things Disney, from the parks to the studios to the history of what made the Walt Disney Company what it is...Walt himself.
