Earth Day: Disney+ Selections
Happy Earth Day Disney Nerds!
As we celebrate this Earth Day, here are some great Disney-related ways to honor this day!
Earlier today we talked about some of the great ShopDisney selections for Earth Day. But if you’re not looking to shop, then let’s talk about some of the great programs on Disney+ for Earth Day!
Today Disney+ released their “Secrets of the Whales” series. It’s a beautiful series that gives you a glimpse of the life of whales. James Cameron is the executive producer and it’s narrated by Sigourney Weaver! With names like that attracted to it, this series should be amazing!
This month, Disney+ also released “Earth Moods” which is a more meditative series. There are no actors and no voiceovers. It’s just a relaxing series of different parts of Earth.
I would also recommend heading over to the “Earth Month Collection” and take a look at all the great shows to watch.
If you haven’t watched “Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom,” then now is a perfect time to watch. It’s a favorite among all of us Disney Nerds Podcast hosts and it’s a great way to get a closer look at some of the animals at Animal Kingdom.
You can find the “Disneynature” series there. Some of my personal favorites from this series are “Oceans,” “Monkey Kingdom,” and last year’s “Elephant” and “Dolphin Reef.”
Of course, National Geographic has some amazing options to watch to celebrate Earth Day. I love the “Wild Yellowstone” and “Wild Hawaii” series!
You can also take a trip through nature, old-school-style with some of Walt Disney’s True Life Adventure series! This series is from the 1940s to-1960s. These films were the precursor to Disneynature so they are a wonderful part of Disney history!
If you don’t see something you like in the “Earth Month Collection” then I would recommend heading over the National Geographic section of Disney+. The selection is phenomenal and there’s something for everyone who wants to learn more about our planet and nature!
